A ladybug (Coccinella sp.) hunts on a cow vetch (Vicia cracca). Wikipedia tells us that “When they need to use a common name, entomologists widely prefer the names ladybird beetles or lady beetles as these insects are not true bugs.” “Ladybug” is the proper American name, however, and if it comes to that, they are not true birds either.
